We're all affected by roads being closed during construction projects and special events. Our goal is to serve as close to your stop as possible without major delays in your trips. We appreciate your patience as we work with our community partners to find solutions that can work to get you where you need to go as conveniently as possible.

  • MTA Resumes Regional Routes June 3, 2020

    Effective June 3, 2020 passengers boarding will take place through the front doors and fares will be required. In recognition of the current conditions we’re facing, fares will be reduced, as follows:

     

    • Fixed Route fares are $1.00 and transfers are free
    • Regional Route fares are $2.00
    • Your Ride fares are $2.00
    • Monthly passes are being sold at discounted rates
    • All discounted rates will remain in effect until October 1, 2020
    • All passengers must wear a mask or scarf when boarding the vehicles
    • The MTA will provide masks for those boarding without one.

  • La MTA reanuda las Rutas Regionales

    A partir del 3 de junio de 2020, el abordaje de pasajeros se realizará a través de las puertas delanteras y se requerirá la presentación de boletos. En reconocimiento a las condiciones actuales que estamos enfrentando, se reducirá el costo de los boletos de la manera siguiente:

     

    • Los boletos de Rutas Fijas costarán $1.00 y las transferencias serán gratuitas
    • Los boletos de Rutas Regionales costarán $2.00
    • Los boletos del servicio Your Ride costarán $2.00
    • Los pases mensuales se venderán a tarifas con descuento
    • Todas las tarifas con descuento permanecerán en vigencia hasta el 1 de octubre de 2020
    • Todos los pasajeros deberán utilizar cubrebocas o bufandas al abordar los vehículos
    • La MTA proveerá cubrebocas para aquellos pasajeros que no tengan uno al abordar.

  • MTA Announces FREE Sunday Family Services

    Effective Sunday, June 7, 2020 and throughout the summer, MTA will be providing free family services on all fixed routes and Your Ride every Sunday.

     

    The Mass Transportation authority understands that area families and individuals have been tremendously impacted by the stay at home orders over the past three months.  Therefore, MTA would like to help families return to normal life conditions. The free Sunday service will assist individuals in accessing groceries, church, retail shopping and other needs.

     

    “We live in a great community that has always supported the MTA services and this is our way of helping out during these difficult times,” stated Ed Benning, MTA General Manager/CEO.

  • MTA Reducing Fares June 3 - September 30, 2020

    Effective Wednesday, June 3, 2020 through September 20, 2020 the MTA is implementing temporary fare reductions:

     

    PRIMARY AND PEAK PERIOD FIXED ROUTE FARES

    • General Public      CURRENT: $ 1.75       REDUCED:  $1.00 including transfers

    DEMAND RESPONSE (CURB TO CURB) YOUR RIDE FARES

    • General Public      CURRENT: $ 3.50       REDUCED:  $2.00
    •  

    MONTHLY PASSES PRIMARY ROUTES

    • General Public      CURRENT: $ 55.00       REDUCED:  $30.00
    •  

    DEMAND RESPONSE (CURB TO CURB) YOUR RIDE FARES - MONTHLY

    • General Public      CURRENT: $ 40.00       REDUCED:  $20.00

     

    SYSTEM WIDE

    • All Passengers      CURRENT: $ 95.00       REDUCED:  $75.00
  • Efforts to provide safety to MTA employees and the riding public

    The Mass Transportation Authority (MTA) is concerned about the safety of our employees and the riding public Therefore, many immediate steps have been taken throughout our facilities and with our vehicles, as follows:

     

    1. Extensive cleaning processes have been implemented to ensure that all surfaces in our facilities and vehicles happen daily and throughout operating hours
    2.  
    3. In order to clean vehicles during the operating day, many employees have been added to the custodian crew. This enables vehicles to be cleaned as they come through the Downtown Transportation Center, every 30 minutes
    4.  
    5. Extra buses are being added to high frequency commuter routes to reduce load factors
    6.  
    7. Hand cleaning products will be provided to the passengers, as supplies remain plentiful
    8.  
    9. Continuous communication is taking place with our employees to ensure that they use every opportunity to wash their hands, stay home if they are feeling sick, and report any issues that arise

     

    In closing, the MTA is committed to providing the safest transportation possible. We thank our employees, passengers, and the general public for your patience and understanding during this difficult time.

  • MTA to reinstate additional essential services on May 18, 2020

    The Mass Transportation Authority will reinstate additional essential services on May 18, 2020 as follows:

     

    Fixed Route bus service will be reinstated on May18, 2020, with services operating on a Saturday type hourly service Monday through Saturday 6:30am - 11:00pm and Sundays 830am - 7:30 pm. Passengers will be asked to wear a mask or scarf when boarding, those who need a mask will find them available on the bus. Boarding the bus will be done through the rear doors only and fares will be waived until June 1, 2020. Passengers who are sick will be requested to stay at home. Regional Route bus service will be reinstated on June 1, 2020.

     

    Rides to Wellness Service for qualified DHHS clients and Genesee County Veterans will resume on June 1, 2020. The Mass Transportation Authority has taken numerous steps to protect our drivers and the riding public. Our ability to keep these services operating will depend greatly on passenger cooperation.

  • MTA reanudará sus servicios esenciales adicionales a partir del 18 de mayo

    La Autoridad de Transporte Público reanudará sus servicios esenciales adicionales a partir del 18 de mayo de 2020 de la manera siguiente:

     

    El servicio de autobuses de Rutas Fijas se reanudará el 18 de mayo de 2020, operando como si fuera un servicio sabatino, de lunes a sábado de 6:30 am a 11:00 pm y los domingos de 8:30 am a 7:30 pm. Se pedirá a los pasajeros que utilicen una mascarilla o bufanda al momento de abordar; habrá mascarillas disponibles en el autobús para aquellos que las necesiten. El abordaje al autobús se realizará únicamente por las puertas traseras y los boletos no tendrán costo alguno hasta el 1 de junio de 2020. Se pedirá a los pasajeros que se encuentren enfermos que permanezcan en sus casas. El servicio de Ruta Regional se reanudará el 1 de junio de 2020.

     

    El 18 de mayo de 2020 la Autoridad de Transporte Público realizará un despliegue limitado de los servicios Rides to Wellness con sus agencias asociadas. El Servicio Rides to Wellness para clientes calificados del Departamento de Salud y Servicios Humanos (DHHS) y Veterano del condado de Genesee se iniciará el 1 de junio de 2020. La Autoridad de Transporte Público ha tomado numerosos pasos para proteger a nuestros conductores y al público pasajero. Nuestra capacidad de mantener en operación estos servicios dependerá en gran medida de la cooperación de los pasajeros.

  • NEW System Wide Plus Pass

    New System Wide Plus Pass to be Offered

    September 1, 2019

     

    The Mass Transportation Authority has been providing evening service after hours from 11:30 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. for work trips. In order to continue this service, we regret that we must implement a pay for service fee to cover the additional costs incurred by the agency.

     

    Therefore, effective September 1, 2019, passengers requiring late night service home utilizing Your Ride must purchase the new System Wide Plus pass for $125.00 or pay for each one way trip with a Your Ride Work Plus $5.00 pass. Individuals using this late night service must have the appropriate pass, as no cash fares will be accepted.

     

    Passengers can schedule service by calling any of the available Your Ride service centers.
