Ride to Groceries

About the Service

Ride to Groceries was created in response concerns about limited access to healthy foods and full service grocery stores. There are two types of Ride to Groceries service

Bus Route

In order to address work related transportation, and access to the Court Street Walmart, a new East Court Route service will operate between the MTA Downtown Transportation Center and Walmart.

This route will run the same hours (9:15 a.m. to 6:45 p.m.) and days as the previous shopper service, and regular fares will be charged. If you have been using the “Rides to Groceries” bus to go downtown, the new bus route will still connect to the MTA Downtown Transportation Center. End of the line will be at Walmart on Court Street.

For those passengers who may still need transportation to grocery shopping, the Rides to Groceries service is available through local Your Ride Service Centers.

Through Local Your Ride Centers

The MTA has expanded the "Ride to Groceries" to now service all of Genesee County. Propane vehicles have been assigned to Your Ride Service Centers to transport passengers in various locations in Genesee County. Passengers can call in to the closest Your Ride Service Center to schedule a trip. The service runs seven days a week, 6:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. Cost for this service is $3.50 each way. Cost for Seniors 65 and older or on Medicare and persons with disabilities is $2.25 each way. There is no limit to the amount of groceries brought on to the vehicle.
