Ride to Groceries

 

About the Service

Ride to Groceries was created in response concerns about limited access to healthy foods and full service grocery stores. There are two types of Ride to Groceries service

 

Bus Route

Flint Eastside residents can call in or wait at one of the special "Ride to Groceries" bus stops located at specific Flint Eastside locations. The bus route travels between Kroger Super Market at Richfield Road and Center Road and Walmart Super Center at Court St. and Belsay Road. It travels past Fresh Choice Market Place at Franklin Ave., and Davison Road. Passengers catching the bus at one of the "Ride to Groceries" bus stops, pay $0.85 a ride. Service hours are 9:15 a.m.-6:45 p.m., Monday through Saturday

Through Local Your Ride Centers

The MTA has expanded the "Ride to Groceries" to now service all of Genesee County. Propane vehicles have been assigned to Your Ride Service Centers to transport passengers in various locations in Genesee County. The service covers Clio, Davison, Fenton, Flushing, Flint East, Flint West, Grand Blanc, Mt. Morris, Otisville and Swartz Creek. Passengers can call in to the closest Your Ride Service Center to schedule a trip. The service runs seven days a week, 6:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. Cost for this service is $3.50 each way. Cost for Seniors 65 and older or on Medicare and persons with disabilities is $2.25 each way. There is no limit to the amount of groceries brought on to the vehicle.
